#1: Knowing how to convert it on a Mathematical level will really help out.

#2: Basic requirements on knowing the syntax of C++.

#3: Working with recursion will be necessary because without it, the program cannot be completed properly.

#4: Knowing how to create functions will help as it is going to be necessary.

Tips

#1: To save yourself trouble, put the function that is going to be used above the main one.  The reason for that has to do with at least saving one line.

#2: Always save your work consistently.  It cannot be stressed enough.

#3: Even after completing the code, make sure the logic makes sense.  If it doesn’t, then you got a logic error and it’s one of the three types of errors.

Steps

#1: Open up Visual Studio as it is going to be needed.  It doesn’t matter what version is being utilized as long as it works.

#2: Select Visual C++ and go to the Win32 Console Application.

#3: Have it set as an empty project so that it would be a brand new one.

#4: Create one source file as it is going to be needed.

#5: Follow the source code below based on the screen shot.  Notice the beginning

#6: After completing it, be sure to build the project.  It will start to compile the code and if there are no errors, then it will be a successful program.

#7: In the event of errors, go about correcting them and going back to the previous step.  If done right, go to the last step.

#8: Run the program completely.  Make sure it works from a logical standpoint.  Try a few different numbers to make sure that it sets it up.  The calculations are done internally and should give you the right answer.

Completing the program is a little bit of a challenge but it is done for the purpose of working with binary numbers.  The only reason it is challenging is because it is going to involve using recursion completely from beginning to end.  Make sure to put that in the function that does the binary conversion because without it, it cannot be done.
